Keeping Up With The Jones's:: Analysis of Competitive Markets
A good design needs to stand out from the crowd but provide better than average access to similar resources. The only way to accomplish this is to thoroughly examine your primary competition's use of the internet and, in effect make certain that your electronic marketing plan accomplishes their functions while delivering a more effective message to your target audience through design, search engine placement, and collateral marketing material integration.

It's Not Just For Kids Anymore:: Layering
What can an effective website accomplish for you? What will your audience expect to see, to find on this site? What needs do they have that can be satisfied by going to your website? Can the website help to educate your consumers? This site is an extension of your companies voice; an open 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365 days year corporate presentation. This is a layer of your overall commitment to quality and excellence.

Drawing A Map:: Information Architecture & Content
I begin each venture with an interview that will establish the projects scope. I hope to define clear user goals and clear business purposes for the website or materials I am designing. For a website, or a brochure these goals will define the Information Architecture, a skeleton or diagram of the site's structure. From this point the site's content: copy, photos, graphics, can be developed.

Design Composition
Information architecture and cohesive planning allows a clean division between content and design. Design's function can exist separately integrating with content through context. However, it allows design to center on usability, legibility and not force design to fit content. I provide three design samples called “comps” for each project that meet the needs of the user and business goals defined in the information architecture. Through revision of these “comps”a final design is achieved.

Revisions
Design, copy, and content rarely achieve perfection in a vacuum. Through a process of consistent review on a base or “test” site, revisions are made until you are happy with the finished product; your website.

Site Hosting
I can provide low cost site hosting, domain name registration, and a variety of other services. I am an authorized re-seller for EZ Web Hosting. The normal fees for site hosting are $30 per month. At this level of service you are provided 100mb of disk space, unlimited pop email accounts, web-mail, and ftp access to your domain account.

Maintenance
For clients who wish to have a design simply provide on-going maintenance for their website, I prefer to work on a retainer basis. As websites are a 24-hour a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year piece of marketing and advertising you need the flexibility of making changes to your site on the fly. Based on the amount of work you anticipate for regular maintenance to your site, together we can develop a price that meets your budget.
